Aluminum PCB - basic material parameters
- By : BokTech team
Metal Core PCB is a metal circuit board material, from the copper foil, thermal insulation layer and metal substrate composition. It features a thermal clad layer that dissipates heat in a highly efficient manner, while cooling components and increasing the overall performance of the products.
Aluminum PCBs is the most common type of Metal core PCBs. Currently, Aluminum Backed PCBs is regarded as the solution to high power and tight tolerance applications.
Its structure is divided into three layers:
1. Circuit Layer:
It is the equivalent of ordinary PCB, line copper foil thickness 1oz to 10oz.
2. Dielectrics Layer:
It is a layer of low thermal resistance thermal insulation material. Thickness: 0.003" to 0.006" inches, this is the core technology of aluminum-based, has been UL certification.
3. Base Layer:
It is a metal substrate, usually aluminum or copper can be selected. Aluminum-based and the traditional epoxy glass cloth laminates and so on.
And aluminum PCB is available in BokTech production service. Here is the conventional aluminum basic material parameters:
- Color: White/Black
- Thickness: 1.0/1.2/1.6/2.0mm
- Min Hole Size: 1.5mm
